SHANA TOVA!!!

Happy New Year to all my Jewish readers! (and happy, wonderful weekend to everyone else ;-) Since today is the new year's day in the Jewish calendar I decided to do a mani with the symbols of the holiday: Honey, Apple, Pomegranate and some more honey.

I wanted my nails to have a base that looks like honey. It wasn't easy but eventually I found a nail polish that looks pretty much like honey. This is Alter Ego - $ Store Diva. This is an orange leaning gold shimmer polish that is just so rich and interesting and very very beautiful. Formula is great and I had no issues while applying. Basically two coats are enough for full opacity but I did notice some little spots where I added a 3rd coat.

I drew everything on my nails using acrylic paints. And while I'm pretty happy with 4 of the drawings, I consider my index's art - a complete fail. That was suppose to be a honey drop, But it didn't quite work... Oh well, at least I did manage to draw the little jar with that special tool to take honey with, A couple of Pomegranate on my pinky, an apple on my ring and a slice of apple on my middle finger's nail.

First of all . . let me start by saying this polish color is absolutely stunning and gorgeous! And Happy New yr to your Jewish readers, it's so funny how everyone operates! Pretty amazing I must admit. And the thumb nail design is pretty neat! Loves it.

Happy New Year! Thank you for using Alter Ego, I am honored you think it is good enough to use as your base! Your mani is fabulous-even the one you're not so happy with-and your photos are superb!

Happy New Year to you and to all of those who will celebrate it now!
The orange polish is amazing and your drawings are cute - I particularly love the apple slice and the honey jar.
May this year be sweet as honey :-*

$ Store Diva is amazing! Just like raw honey, from my side of the screen! And I love your manicure, you freehanded everything so well! Too bad, your index finger is clearly a honey drop, but it gets confused with the background... However, the whole manicure still looks amazing ^^ Happy new year!

I actually think your honey drop is amazing, I was wondering how you did it? It looks like a nice wet drop of honey. I want to do something similar but have been trying to figure out how.

Thank you so much!
The drop is a slight heavier coat of my base polish in the shape of a drop, and then I emphasized it's contour with a darker brown and drew some catch-lights with white.
Very simple :)
