So yesterday I showed you my amazing Halloween package that I got from Jody, and today I will show you my full mani using the first of her polishes, and my most favorite one of them all - Jugular Vein.
Jugular Vein is a creme polish in deep brownish red color, with subtle pinkish shimmer. The way Jody of SoFlaJo describes this color, it is the color of deep dried blood. Yes, I think that pretty much is the color. But the somewhat pinkish shimmer is giving this polish this special beautiful depth and take it away from the gory feel of real dried blood.
Formula is amazing and butter-y, pigmentation - excellent, one coat gives a perfect cover, a second coat is needed only for those (like me) who cannot apply their polish in straight lines. This is one of those polishes one really must have in their collection. It works beautifully for both warm and cold skin tones and it is elegant, fun and very very fall - appropriate. It dries pretty quickly into a smooth, glossy finish. Swatches show 2 coats of polish, no top coat.
I wanted to do a snake skin stamping on this polish. I decided to combine it with silver and the stamping over Jugular Vein is done with MoYou silver special polish. I used plate DRK-C but somehow... my stamping doesn't really look like snake, does it? I don't know, maybe my color combo is too delicate, maybe I didn't do the stamping properly, whatever the reason might be, I don't get this really "snake" feeling out of this mani... But it's a nice combo still. As for my accent - I used Sally Hansen Celeb City as my base and Mentality Proper to stamp with. So not very snake-y, but I like this mani nonetheless.
You can find SoFlaJo's wonderful polishes either on her own website or in her Etsy Shop. Make sure you follow her on Facebook and Twitter, to get all the most updated information.
