So today is the last day of my Light It Up Blue week. And for today's post I wanted to do some foiling for you but I had some difficulties with it that I will show you all sometimes later this week. So instead of that, I will be Copying this mani that I saw a couple of weeks ago, that I totally fell in love with, by the wonderful Missy of Gnarly Gnails.
So I started with two coats of Kiko number 340. What's with the numbers anyway? Why can't they give it a name?! Well, it's a light sky blue creme. It's a tiny bit too thick and I think I should have put a couple of thinner drops in it, but I didn't. So on some of the nails it looks a bit streaky. But it is shiny and really nice blue. Then I used some tape, but I didn't really try very hard to place it straight and without folds, so you can see where there have been folds and the polish didn't come out in a perfect straight line. I used Orly Skinny Dip, a neon light blue polish with some nice blue-pink shimmer that is very subtle and hardly seen on the nail.
For the last coat I didn't even bother with the tape. I just applied a diagonal line of China Glaze Liquid Crystal, which is a gorgeous blue with silver and holographic micro glitters. I just used it for the first time and I honestly cannot understand why. It is such a beauty! I guess you will be seeing a lot of it in the future. Well, for this specific mani I guess I put a little too much of it. It didn't quite turn as lovely as it did for Missy. But I did learn from this and I do plan to get me a polish that is a little more like the one Missy used - Mrs. White by Nail Pattern Boldness.
And just before we say good bye to Light It Up Blue week and start something new, I'll leave you the important link of the Autistic Self Advocacy Network, to get all the information that you need about Autism - from Autistic people.
